How to Write Children's Books? - Could it be as Simply as ABC?
How to write children's books need not be as daunting as you first imagine.
If you find yourself enjoying the idea of writing and interacting with children, you will probably find your skills lye in writing children's books. Many people think about writing children's books but so few actually get up the determination to do so. Remember that while writing a good children's book is far from simple, you will find that it can still be a rewarding thing to do. Telling stories is one of the most important ways that we teach our children and even when they don't know that they are learning a lesson, they will hold it with them. If you want to write children's books, there are several things that you should keep in mind.
If you are interested in writing, the first thing that will help you is to read! No matter what kind of book you want to write for children, head to the bookstore and look at what is being offered. You will find that through reading other people's books you are going to be able to learn a lot about writing, what you can do and what has been done before. You need to make sure that you aren't going over ground that hasn't been gone over before or at least that you have a new take on it, and at the end of the day, you may even find that reading about other people's work will give you a lot of terrific ideas. Take some time to research what other people are doing.
When you want to write children's books, do some plotting and planning. Even though children's books are relatively simple, remember that there is still a point to it, and a plot. What is the problem in your story and what can you do to make sure that it gets across? Depending on the book that you are writing, it might be anything from finding the right pair of socks to dealing with a traumatic issue. Sit down and outline the action of your story and how it goes together. This can help you decide on a lot of things and at the end of the day, it can make sure that you don't go astray with your narrative.
Set aside some time every day to write. For instance, how much time do you have and what can you do to make sure that you are going to be getting the right kind of work put in? Some people find that they work best at their own table late at night, while other people will squeeze in twenty minutes of writing during their morning commute. The thing about writing is that everyone means to do it, but so few people get around to it. The issue is that inertia can be something that is very great, and at the end of the day, it can really make you forget all about your project. Dedication and determination are the key skills involved when you want to write children's books.
Think about your main character. Who are you talking to, and what kind of experience are you trying to convey? There are many children's book authors who are now trying to create characters that feel real to their readers. It is worth asking what kind of school your protagonist might go to, or what kind of experiences he or she might have. While the issue or the problem that you are dealing with is something that is important, so are the background details that you throw in. The better you can put your children's book into a particular place, the more it is going to appeal. Take a moment to think about the area and the world that your story takes place in.
Another thing that you might want to consider when you are thinking about how to write a children's book is getting other people to read it. Having a reader's group is ideal, but anyone who reads your book can help give you some important insight into it. Take a moment to make sure that your book gets read and you get useful feedback from the people who are around you. If you have some readers around who are the right ages see what they have to say about it.
Take a moment to consider how to write children's books. If you have a story to tell, make sure that you get it down on paper! You never know it might just be a best seller!

You Must Read This Report If You Are Considering Selling Covered Calls
I am continually amazed that many retail investors simply don't understand the concept of generating extra cash from their stock positions. People look at me like I am crazy when I tell them to utilize covered call options to generate extra income, decrease their exposure to market declines, and establish strict sell criteria. I was introduced to covered calls by several of my clients. They explained the concept to me. The technique of writing covered calls is the only stock option strategy that you can use at most of the major brokerage firms for your IRA investments. This is because writing covered calls is a very conservative strategy relative to other option strategies.
Covered call selling is very similar to selling an option on a piece of real estate. For example, I'll give you $10,000 now if you sell me the property in 6 months at a set price. If I decide not to exercise my right to by the property, you keep the money and we go our separate ways.
With a stock, if I buy 1,000 shares of ABC OIL at $10 and the stock goes to $11 in the following month. I can sell someone the "right" or option to buy the stock from me six months from now at $12.50. For that right or option, the option buyer has to give me some consideration, similar to the above real estate example, let's assume it is .50 per share or $500.
The $500 is immediately deposited into my brokerage account and the corresponding option position shows up on my statement. I must keep the stock for the whole term of the option contract unless I buy back the option on the open market. The option price will change from day to day. Therefore, I typically hold my stocks until expiration.
Six months from now, two things can happen. One, the stock goes above $12.50 and the person "calls" me out of the position, which I am more than happy to do since I bought it at ten. Second, the stock has declined below $12.50 and the option holder is holding on to a worthless option. The option holder would not "call" the stock from me at $12.50 when he or she might be able to buy it in the open market at $11.50.
I then start the process all over again and write the calls again.
Let's examine what I accomplished with this strategy: 1. I hedged my position by 5% or $500 2. I set a strict sell price that I was willing to let the shares go for, $12.50 3. I generated income that I could enjoy or reinvest.
This strategy has made me extremely happy since the stock market has declined. Covered call options helped me to remain profitable even in this recent bear market.
As a reminder, make sure you "know what you own" and consult with a tax professional or adviser before investing your hard earned money!

Important Article Writing Keys For Newbies
1. Necessity vs Desire:
Articles and Blogs are necessary in today's scheme of search engine indexing. Not what the newbie wants to hear. Just remember what the Bible says, "there has nothing over taken you that is not common to man". That's right! All of us hate article and Blog writing at times, and some of us dread the journey to pen and paper (or keyboard as the case may be) all the time. Many a webmaster would call them "a necessary evil" as they are not generally anyone's best liked house keeping chores.
2. Just Start, It Gets Easier:
First it is sometimes difficult to get a subject or theme and to get the first couple of lines scribbled down. The Tennessee Mountain Man knows authors who literally get sick thinking about the process. Lighten up. Once an author has a starting point and gets passed the initial thoughts, article and Blog writing usually goes fairly smoothly.
3. Good vs Perfection:
Your old English comp professor is not looking over your shoulder. This paper does not have to be perfect. That is not to say it does not have to be on point or to say that it does not have to be correct. It does or at least it should be. But, perfection is not the goal and is, in fact, seldom possible. Too much detail and you run the risk of losing your reader on several levels. Too long and
most readers simply don't have the time or interest to wade through the material regardless of how important it is.
4. Blog Length vs Article Length:
Most publishers want a minimum of six hundred (600) words per article - some will let you slide with four hundred (400) words. Blogs can be much smaller. Blogs can and maybe should support appropriate pictures and embedded links.
5. Format:
Prepare your article in American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) format. There are many tools from which to choose to get the job done. A search for 'free ASCII editor' or for 'free plain text editors' will provide one with a multitude of free options. Word Press is a popular choice. If all else fails simply use notepad to turn out your masterpiece.
6. Spelling and Grammar:
Once you have your article or Blog run it through a good spell checker and a good grammar checker. Microsoft Word works well for these purposes. Just don't use the MS Word copy for publication of your article. Rather use it's suggestions to make any necessary corrections to your plain text copy. The MS Word copy will work for Blogs although the Computerman prefers other editors.
Just like the days when you were pushed by Profs, you will find Article and Blog writing skills become easier with time and practice.
7. Publish and Announce:
Once your Blog is ready you may want to use some automatic tools to publish and announce it. First do a search for Blog hosts and select those which best suit your needs. Join one or more and publish your Blog there. Then search for Blog announcers and rss announcers and use them to get your Blog noticed.
8. Patience:
Now, have some patience. Here is where you lose control. Many of the men and women who host articles are timely and your articles will be reviewed within twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours. But, many others will be days and weeks down the road therefore never date an article - a sure way to get rejected.
9. Rejection - "sorry your article has been declined":
Be prepared for most hosts to reject your articles. Do not take it personally. It usually has little to do with you or your article.
Remember, just as in everything else in life, for every rule there is an exception
10. Keep the faith, and keep cranking out articles:
It is not necessary that every host to accept everything submitted to them. After one or two hosts publish your article on any given subject, the search engines tend to penalize you anyway by ignoring additional postings. This is close to spamming and while it could help someone find you, it probably won't. It is not necessarily, the more the merrier. The additional listings will not increase your page rankings or links reported by the search engines. It is more important to get published by hosts with the highest Google page rank possible.

Craftsperson spends time honing his skills
Some would-be writers think they can dash off an article without bothering to learn the basic rules of grammar. But just as any craftsperson spends time honing his skills to make the perfect piece of craft, so must a writer work hard to present an article that will be a pleasure to read and not shame him for its sloppy grammar and punctuation. True, some errors are typos, but doesn't that reflect a certain laziness on the author's part? An article should be closely examined for typos before it is sent off or uploaded.
For instance...
" It's a good day today/ It is a good day today". The latter example makes perfect sense, so it is okay to use "it's".
But....
"Here is a rabbit. Its burrow is over there."
Does, "It is burrow is over there", make sense? No.
Of course if you said, "The rabbit's burrow is over there," then the apostrophe denotes possession (and only one rabbit), not a missing letter.
"The rabbits burrow is over there," (with no apostrophe) means there are several rabbits.
And just for the record, "loose" means not tight, while "lose" means you've lost it.
"Who's" is short for "who is", but "whose" is the possessive form of "who" (as in "Whose is that car?")
"Quiet" means "hush", while "quite" is an adverb (which should usually be left out).
"I felt quite silly," sounds better as, "I felt silly".
"I felt like an idiot," may be even better.
Sometimes rules of grammar get in the way of good writing. If this is the case they can and should be broken, otherwise your writing will become pedantic and even mechanical. One such rule is that a sentence should not begin with a conjunction. Both "and" and "but" can certainly be used to begin a sentence, or even a paragraph, but not to end one. Using either of these conjunctions to start a sentence can be a natural transition to carry the reader forward.
A rule of style tells us to never use the same word twice in a sentence, but if you have to search for several other clumsy substitutes to do the job, then please repeat. Repetition of someone's name is a little different. It can easily be replaced with "he" or "she" as the sentence progresses.
A persistent myth masquerading as a rule tells us not to end a sentence with a preposition. Winston Churchill is supposed to have made fun of this by stating, "This is the sort of English up with which I will not put." Of course a sentence may end with a preposition. A good rule is to write the way you speak. But unless you have grown up speaking English, ignore this rule too.
Don't trust your spell checker. No automated spell-checker can alert you to every error. Whose and who's, lose and loose, quiet and quite, its and it's are all legitimate words, so there will be no red line under them. Spell-checkers are not clever enough yet to tell which one you meant to use. And if the error is not due to a typo, it means you need to keep a dictionary on hand to check anything you are uncertain of.
Remember that when a word ends in " 's" it means there is a letter missing. "It's" means "it is". If you are unsure which one you should be using, try saying the sentence both ways.

Student accommodation makes the perfect pad for festival fans
Student accommodation provider UNITE
opens its doors to the public for the Edinburgh Festival
Those planning a trip to the Edinburgh Festival this year will have an alternative to pricey custom essay papers as Edinburgh student accommodation
provider UNITE is offering en-suite rooms from £35 per night.
With hotel rooms getting booked up months in advance, UNITE is aiming to provide an alternative for festival goers, by making rooms available in three different properties across the city over the summer.
A far cry from the traditional image of grotty student digs, UNITE’s properties combine stylish living with great city centre locations, so guests will be at the heart of the festival action. A choice of accommodation is also on offer, from Edinburgh studio apartments
to en-suite rooms in shared flats. All accommodation is self-catered giving you the flexibility to eat in or eat out.
The three properties available for summer lettings are:
• McDonald Road, EH7 4GT – just off Leith Walk, this property is close to Holyrood Park which this year will host the Edinburg Festival Cavalcade with custom essay writing services.
• Portsburgh Court, EH3 9DH – situated in Lady Lawson Street this property near to Princes Street Gardens, home to the Ross Theatre where the Scottish Chamber Orchestra play each year
• James Craig Court, EH1 3BA – this property can’t be beaten for its location in the very heart of the city centre close to all of the main attractions that the festival has to offer
Nathan Goddard, Sales and Marketing Director at UNITE said: “It can be tough to find quality, affordable student accommodation in Edinburghfor the festival but with students heading home for the summer, UNITE has plenty of space. We are delighted to be able to offer fans of The Fringe an alternative place to stay.”
The minimum stay is two nights and there are deals available for those wishing to stay over longer periods. Members of the public can place bookings for this summer by calling 0141 353 7417.
